Trainee Miners (Moranbah)Anglo Coal Australia is one of Australia’s leading coal producers adding value to Australia and the world. Anglo Coal Australia has extensive coal mining interests and prospects in Queensland and New South Wales. Moranbah North Mine, one of Anglo Coal Australia’s underground longwall mining operations, is situated at Moranbah, two hours drive west of Mackay in Central Queensland. With a workforce of around 350 permanent employees, Moranbah North Coal is a very modern, safe mine operating some of the most up to date underground mining equipment in the world, supplying premium quality coking coal to the export market. Opportunities now exist to join Moranbah North Mine as a Trainee Miner. Trainees will undertake the requirements of the Certificate II Underground Coal Mining Operations. You will be working alongside a range of technical & operational professionals with a structured learning program providing both on the job and TAFE based training. Junior Miners also participate and receive recognition in a mining industry “Work Readiness Program” - this provides the miner with a wide range of skills to ensure that they are a safe and productive mine worker They work alongside a range of technical and operational professionals all areas of the underground mine environment including Development, Longwall, Outbye, Survey, Strata Control and Ventilation. They will also be provided with exposure to the Coal Handling Preparation Plant and Warehouse Operations You will be a highly motivated individual with good communication skills and a mature approach.
